Linfox

Linfox is a Melbourne founded private company now operating in 10 Asia Pacific countries and employing 18,500 people, with more than 70% living and working in Asia.

The safety of its people is a key focus and the business has reduced its Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate by 90% in six years, to a world-wide logistics industry low of 1.6.

Its Indigenous Employment Program aims to provide 500 jobs by 2015 with nearly 90 people already trained and working in the business.

Linfox College provides a variety of education opportunities to employees. Its 2012 Graduate Program inducted 22 tertiary graduates from the Asia Pacific region to its 18-month program, bringing the current number of graduates at Linfox to 40.

The company is committed to reducing its rate of carbon emissions by 50% by 2015, based on its 2007 emissions. It has already achieved a 36% reduction.

Linfox sponsors local community activities in each country of operation. These overseas sponsorships include: the AKLD Rescue Helicopter Trust in New Zealand; Greenbelt in Shanghai; Reading Rooms in India; Convoy Trucking for Kids in Thailand; ‘East meets West’ SPELL education fund in Vietnam.

In Australia it sponsors seven surf life saving clubs’ nippers programs and supports the Melbourne-based FareShare and New South Wales OzHarvest food rescue programs with financial, professional and technical resources. The work with FareShare and OzHarvest includes vehicle servicing, training the charities’ drivers and improving their transport planning. FareShare and OzHarvest provide Linfox employees with volunteer opportunities.

Linfox supported Victoria’s Black Saturday bushfire victims in a number of ways. A Linfox warehouse was used to collect donations of goods from the public; Linfox rail containers provided storage facilities in affected communities; and the company and its employees contributed substantial cash donations. Linfox’s contributions were recently recognised when the Marysville community invited the company to take part in its annual Australia Day parade.
