Since 1991 Pitcher Partners Melbourne has grown to become the leader in its market, and the 5th largest Melbourne based accounting firm with 43 partners and over 500 professional and support staff.
Pitcher Partners makes a significant contribution to the sustainability of the not for profit sector by assisting numerous not for profit organisations manage effectively by providing Pro bono professional work. In the financial year 2011/12, the fees forgone were in excess of $350k.
Pitcher Partners contributes to the community by enabling staff to easily salary sacrifice donations to charities, encouraging their staff to participate in charitable events and become involved with community care programs such as:
Onni House (Winds of Change) orphanage in Nepal – Pitcher Partners has assisted Wind of Change International, a not for profit association in Melbourne to build a house in Nepal for disadvantaged children. The house provides a family environment and education for 69 children. Pitcher Partners is providing half the start up costs of the house and ongoing funding over the initial five years.
Brotherhood of St Laurence Breakfast Club which is targeted at disadvantaged children, The Napier Street Child and Family Resource Centre managed by the Brotherhood, provides a nutritious breakfast before school for local primary school children. Pitcher Partners provide volunteers to help prepare and supervise the breakfast each Friday morning at the Atherton Gardens Housing Estate in Brunswick Street, North Fitzroy. The volunteers cook, interact with the children attending and clean up afterwards.
FareShare which collects surplus produce from supermarkets, manufacturers and farmers and produces 10,000 nutritious meals for the homeless and hungry in Melbourne each week. The organisation operates from a kitchen in Abbotsford and distributes to a range of charities across Melbourne. Pitcher Partners provide volunteers on a quarterly basis to help cook in the FareShare kitchens.
Christmas raffle in support of Prahran Mission’s Christmas Day lunch – On Christmas Day 2011, The Prahran Mission provided a 3 course meal at the Malvern Town Hall for over 330 disadvantaged people, many of whom had physical or intellectual disabilities, or were homeless or old age pensioners. Pitcher Partners assisted this initiative, by donating all proceeds of the raffle drawn at the annual firm Christmas party.
