Dr Gerard Vaughan

Dr Vaughan is the Director of the National Gallery of Victoria.

Dr Vaughan has been the Director of the National Gallery of Victoria for the past two years at a critical time in their development. He has overseen the renovation of the Gallery in St Kilda Road and has been responsible for the successful completion of the Federation Square Gallery complex.

Dr Vaughan has had great success obtaining corporate funding for the National Gallery, including major donations from the Westpac Bank and the Western Mining Corporation.

Prior to coming to the National Gallery, Dr Vaughan held posts primarily in the fund raising area, including a role at the Tate Gallery, and also as personal assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Oxford University where he is said to have helped raise more than £30 Million for the University.

In 2013 after ten years service, Gerard Vaughan retired from the National Gallery. He will maintain his role as a strong advocate for Arts in Victoria.
